Dall'Aspromonte at Porta Pia. The Bourbons, Pius IX and Garibaldi. An exhibition at the Castello Ruffo di Scilla

S'impernia infatti sulle figure della dinastia dei Borbone, Pius IX, opponents of liberator Garibaldi is represented in a large painting by Induno after injury in the Aspromonte and work as emblematic of Cefaly and in rare portraits of other artists. You can tell that you are wanted so lines represent negative the Risorgimento, or rather that deep chiaroscuro, which is the substratum of nineteenth-century Italian history outside triumphant epic about the Risorgimento which then grafted.

In the halls of the Castle of Scilla over the paintings, including some members of the House of Ruffo, come into view of the visitor sculptures depicting busts of noble families, valuable documents stationery, personal letters, artifacts, objects belonging to the protagonists. Pius IX is reserved especially all a learning environment, because as you know, has been the lack of consent to the unification and created the dispute then ensued for Rome capital of Italy.
The suggestion of the exhibition lies in the shadow of this contrast that reveals the difficult diplomacy of action of the various states to find a solution, the radicalization of a centuries-old papal legitimacy put at risk and dramatically Finally, the disruptive campaigns by opponents of Garibaldi. It 'was a miracle that has arisen from these disparate ingredients, the Italian state, for those who consider it a done correctly, a risky adventure for those who still puts into question. For some and for others is certainly taken for granted that an event has had and still has its weight in shaping the European reality.
