For the third consecutive time, in fact, Charles Palmer, regional secretary of the union, was elected to the Executive Committee of Fnsi, confirming the role of Calabria in the National Federation of Press. With him in the reorganization of Fnsi, outlined by Congress in Bergamo (January 2011), which marked the confirmation of Robert Franco Siddi and Christmas, respectively nel ruolo di segretario generale e presidente, ci sono quattro consiglieri nazionali e tre probiviri. Si tratta di Andrea Musmeci e Pino Toscano (consiglieri professionali); Luigi Caminiti e don Pino Strangio (consiglieri collaboratori). Nelle fila dei probiviri della Fnsi, la Calabria ha, invece, eletto Pino Nano (effettivo) e Giuseppe Sarlo (supplente), tra i professionali, ed Amelia Romeo, tra i collaboratori.

Prosegue, dunque, a marcia ingranata la scalata dell’Assostampa calabrese, forte dell’impegno della componente sindacale “Stampa libera e indipendente” che pone una netta distinzione tra politica sindacale e politica in senso lato.
